About Us
Who is ARMA?
The Australian Recreational Motorists Association (ARMA) was formed in 2019 to advocate for the rights of all recreational users of public lands.
ARMA's mission is encapsulated in our tagline: LINK, SUPPORT, REPRESENT.
- LINK: We connect public lands partners with government leaders, socially conscious corporations, and each other through a vibrant peer network.
- SUPPORT: We offer targeted education, training, and capacity-building programs to our community.
- REPRESENT: We advocate for our members' interests with elected officials and policy makers.
What does ARMA do?
Australians love using public lands for activities such as four-wheel driving, boating, camping, horseback riding, prospecting, hunting, fishing, and biking. These activities often require motorised vehicular access. Additionally, many people rely on public lands for essential needs and relaxation.
As citizens of Australia, we have the right to continued, responsible use of public lands. However, some government bodies have been closing off these areas. ARMA is a unified, powerful community dedicated to the preservation, enrichment, and enjoyment of Australia's most treasured places. Through collaboration and advocacy, we aim to empower public users in their fight for improved access and the removal of unnecessarily restrictive laws.
What objectives does the ARMA have?
(1) To positively promote the responsible recreational use of both private and public land.
(2) Assist members to operate as an effective organisation and to lobby for fairness.
(3) Work with land managers to conserve and enhance lands through means of education promotions, volunteering and help implement programs/projects.
(4) Promote an awareness of safe and sustainable recreational motoring to, Land Managers, the Public and Law Makers.
(5) Work with all Members, Land Managers, Law Makers, Media Outlets and Manufacturers both Automotive or Aftermarket, to communicate, promote knowledge around recreational motoring both On-road and Off-road.
